STUDENT VISAS

Student visa Subclass 500

Student visa Subclass 500 is for applicants who wish to study or attend any educational program or course in Australia for a longer period of time. Before you apply, you need to enrol into studies in Australia and have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). You can apply for a student visa offshore or onshore.

Australia is considered to be one of the safest and the most suitable countries for international students, because there are many different nations and cultures living in Australia. Many ethnic groups have their own communities and this helps many newcomers to adjust.

Based on some statistical data:

  • Australia is the third most popular destination for international students.
  • 8 out of 100 of the world’s top ranked universities are in Australia.
  • 1,100 Australian institutes (colleges, universities) have about 22,000 courses.
  • 5 out of the top 30 student cities in the world are in Australia.
  • Australia, on average, has the best climate compared to other countries in English speaking areas.

With this visa you can:

  • stay in Australia for up to 5 years in accordance with the duration of the studies
  • work for up to 40 hours in two weeks maximum
  • take eligible members of your family with you
  • have an unlimited number of entries and exits from Australia.

Eligibility requirement:

  • Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)
  • Health Insurance (Overseas Student Health Cover – OSHC)
  • certain level of English language and proof of having passed the English language test, unless exceptions apply
  • enough funds to cover the costs of your stay during the studies.

Processing times

The time for processing your Student visa application depends on many factors such as a study sector you are applying for, how well your application and documentation was prepared, whether you received the request for additional information, and so on. Sometimes it happens that enrolling process takes longer than preparing a visa application and supporting documentation, so we advise you to enter this process well informed and on time.
