With Transit visa Subclass 771 you can:
- be in transit through Australia for no longer than 72 hours
- enter Australia by air before joining the crew of a non-military ship as a holder of Maritime Crew visa Subclass 988

- to be offshore at the time of applying for a visa and to have a confirmed booking for a trip to another country within 72 hours of arriving in Australia and proper documents for entry into that country

Work and Holiday visa Subclass 462 allows young people to work in Australia in order to finance their vacation.
